MarSurf CM Confocal Technologies for today’s challenging

The MarSurf CM confocal technology from Mahr is unique. It enables the measurement of structures and surfaces in the sub-micrometer range with exceptional precision, speed and efficiency. This makes the MarSurf CM product group ideal for the challenges arising from current trends in the manufacture of optical components for metrology.
These include the measurement of steep flanks on small diameter microlenses, the need for 100% inspection and the ability to deliver high quality, consistent results for a wide range of materials.
The MarSurf product range helps you achieve this:

- MarSurf CM confocal technology captures and processes even extremely weak reflection signals from steep lens flanks. Combined with optimized objective lenses and a high-dynamic-range camera, these steep flanks are measured without interpolation.

- The patented confocal multi-pinhole sensor of the MarSurf CM is a combination of extremely low noise and extremely fast data acquisition. A single lens can be measured in less than 4 seconds, and with Mahr's automated measurement software, 1000 lenses can be measured in just over an hour.

- The MarSurf CM technology is suitable for a broad range of materials, including injection-molded polymers, glass and silicon wafers. It is characterized by a wide dynamic range and excellent sensitivity to very weak reflected light signals.

Surface topography of microlenses, roughness of ground and polished optical surfaces, contour, curvature and geometry measurement of small lenses as well as the determination of optical defects are relevant measurement tasks for optical components that can be easily performed with the MarSurf CM products.
